Tremen

Based on the comic by Pim bos, Tremen is a story without text or dialogue set in a colorless world. A lone traveler called the Rumpert roams the lands on his mount in search for valuable pieces of machinery, in the meantime he needs to keep his and his mounts energy levels up to be able to keep on going. Currently it is being developed into an animated short by Pim and Simeon van den Ende and created by students from Breda University of Applied Sciences in collaboration with students from ISART Digital.

My main responsibilities in the project was being our Houdini allrounder, as such I touched on a lot of different areas during the project ranging from environment work and lighting to vellum simulation as well as using Solaris and USD for scene setup and rendering.

I also had a lot of fun playing around with Vellum for the worm bucket.

Our initial previz was done in Maya, however we decided to move to Houdini using Solaris and Karma for final layout and rendering
